Denver’s got a new social pot club that’s opening soon
There’s a new business that’s opening in Denver that will allow for social pot use – the second in the Mile High City – centered around the idea that there are better places to smoke other than your living room.
Vape and Play will open Feb. 18 on Denver’s “Green Mile.” Here, you won’t be able to buy marijuana but you’ll be able to smoke it on vaporizer machines provided by the business for two or three hours.
“It’s maybe a little different than a ratty couch in a smoke-filled room,” Megan Lumpkins, Vape and Play Chief Operating Officer, told The Denver Channel. “We wanted people to walk into this space and for it to feel familiar like this is a nice hotel lobby, this is a nice restaurant.”
See? Much better than your living room.
Here’s how it’ll work: Patrons will take a survey regarding their marijuana consumption then given a wrist band colored according to their usage levels: pink for beginners and black for the pros. The vape system’s settings will react based on each customer’s wrist band color.
The vaping lounge is in response to Colorado’s problem of drawing in weed tourism then having no place for tourists to legally ingest the products. Lumpkins hopes the concept will grow.
“We would definitely want company because Denver could be a tourist destination for cannabis consumption lounges. So, when there’s only two of us, it’s not so much of a destination. We would welcome the company of other licensed spaces too,” she said to The Denver Channel.
