Shroom top madnessDurango celebrated its shroom fest last week at Purgatory Resort, and this weekend, the fungus spreads to Telluride. The five-day event includes a beer launch party, movies, panel discussions, edible mushroom forays, and a whole bunch more. Come celebrate these versatile Super Mario Bros boosters and the folks who love them.

Let the good times rollHop on board for the two-night Durango Blues Train event. Two live bands and four solo and duo acts will play in the historic train cars as attendees roll through the San Juan National Forest. There will also be beer, wine, and snacks available from the bar coach.

Downhill dirt racingRocky Mountain Race series comes to a close. Throughout the summer, multi-discipline mountain bike races have taken place around Colorado and New Mexico. The last race of the season takes place at Purgatory, with racers of all ages, skill levels, and styles, including cross country, downhill, short track, and slalom.

Blue mesa This weekend marks the 4th Annual Meltdown on the Mesa bluegrass festival. Eight bands will pick and strum from mid-afternoon into the night. There will be two food vendors there, but feel free to bring as much as your cooler can carry. Camping is also encouraged, but for tents and cars only. No RVs.
