If you or your loved ones has been diagnosed with autism and you live in Colorado, medical marijuana is now a feasible treatment option for you.
On April 2, World Autism Day, Governor Jared Polis signed House Bill 1028, officially adding autism spectrum disorder to the list of conditions that can be treated with medical marijuana, according to Westword.
“It’s National Autism Day today, and we are acting by expanding patients’ access to cannabis products that help those with autism,” Polis said right before signing HB 1028. “We know that not just anecdotally, but with a mounting amount of good scientific data that is coming in.”
A similar bill was previously shut down by former governor John Hickenlooper in 2018, citing a lack of studies as his reason for killing the bill.
