If you’ve finally cracked under the stress of the holidays, get yourself down to the Henry Strater Theatre on Saturday night for December Comedy Nights at the Strater. There, you will find that laughing is allowed; unlike laughing at Uncle Harry when he’s passed out in the recliner Christmas afternoon, soaked in whiskey, dried-up flecks of what may be eggnog stuck to the grizzled gray stubble on his chin and apparently having missed the bathroom, given the stains and smell … but we digress.
Anyhoo, head downtown and catch comedians Spencer James and Jimmy Abeyta as they share their stories of family life and everyday observations that will probably make your Christmas experience pale in comparison.
The show starts at 8 Saturday night, with doors opening at 7:30. Tickets are $10 for advance general admission/12 bucks at the door. If you’re feeling flush, you can also order up box seats. For those, call the box office at 375-7160.
Oh, and it’s an 18-and-over event, so leave the kiddos at home – although preferably not with Uncle Harry.
