DGO editor to take the stage

by Herald staff Report

David Holub, former Herald Arts & Entertainment editor and current editor of DGO Magazine, will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Durango Arts Center in the debut performance of his one-man show, “We Are Broken and We Are Whole.”

Written by Holub and directed by Mancos writer and performer Sarah Syverson, the show is described as “a night of experimental storytelling.” Part of the show will be staged reading and other parts fully staged and performed.

The stories told in the show range between humorous and melancholy, alternating between fact and fiction.

All revolve around Holub’s personal experience with marriage, divorce and suburban life, and, according to the show poster, “what it means to be caged and what it takes to be free.”

Holub’s project came about largely through a weeklong artist residency at Willowtail Nature Preserve in Mancos awarded by the Durango Arts Center, which he completed last month.

There is a $10 suggested donation at the door with proceeds going to DAC.
