Hi friends. It’s me again — back with some updates on Cannabis Crawl. Remember how we had to postpone the OG dates for the Cannabis Crawl recently? Yeah, we’re unfortunately going to have to postpone them yet again.
Here’s the deal. While things are starting to open back up in Durango, we don’t feel like we can safely hold a Cannabis Crawl right now — especially given how awesome you guys are and how massive the attendance is at this awesome event. Over the last couple of years, this event has surpassed our wildest dreams in terms of participation and support, and to do it right — the way we know it should be done — we can’t hold it in the midst of social-distancing and concerns about a deadly virus being spread. To do so would put everyone at risk and would diminish the whole purpose of the Crawl — to celebrate Durango’s thriving cannabis industry.
So, in response to the ever-changing approach to the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve decided to push the crawl to October, which is hopefully far out enough for things to level out and return to a semi-normal state, allowing us to move forward with what we’re now calling the Fall Crawl.
We know waiting sucks, but things are pretty unpredictable right now and we haven’t had much choice in the matter. COVID-19 has changed the way we live from week to week, and while we’re as antsy to get out of the house as you are, we want to make sure that we’re doing it safely AND in a way that allows us to party our fannies off with you guys in tow. So, pushing the date out again, this time to October, will hopefully mean that the third date is a charm — no more rescheduling required.
Still, we had high hopes that this would be the week for the Crawl, which is why this issue is chock full o’ weed content. We’d planned for this issue to be celebrating all things cannabis in anticipation of Cannabis Crawl, and while we can’t hold the Crawl — YET — we can still celebrate through our content.
You’ll find that the pages of this issue are filled with stories about weed, and include everything from weed hospitality to a ton of product and strain reviews. So join us while we celebrate, via our mag, the fact that we’re living in a state with legal weed. And please, please, PLEASE, let’s collectively cross our fingers that October will bring us some normalcy, along with a bounty of deals, steals, and giveaways with the annual DGO Cannabis Crawl.
We can’t wait to see you guys out on the streets, in the dispensaries, and at our sweet-ass afterparty during the Fall Crawl. Cheers to making the best of this mess. And cheers to weed.
