Bet you didn’t know comedy and bikes run, er, cycle together, now did you? Well, lucky for you bicycle and comedy nerds, the Southwest Chief Bicycle & Comedy Festival is headed straight for Trinidad, Colo.
In what may seem like an quirky concoction of events, from May 2-5, the festival is bringing in 20 comedians from Denver, Albuquerque, Chicago, and Los Angeles, commuting festival-goers from Los Angeles and Chicago by train, and getting people out and about on their bikes. And if you don’t have a bike? Well, not to worry because Southwest Chief Festivals is partnering with Trinidad’s bike share organization Giddyup to get you on some wheels.
To catch the comedy shows, swing by the local bars and theaters including the Southern Colorado Repertory Theatre, Brix Sports Bar, Las Animas Grill, Moose’s Martini Bar & Social Club, Jujo’s Dancehall, Hot Yoga on Main. You can also catch some family-friendly comedy and activities for free (the best kind of activities) all day May 4 at the Carnegie Public Library.
Train rides from Los Angeles and Chicago will leave May 2 and will arrive in Trinidad on May 3, joining the hundreds of other audience members for a good time.
Be sure to grab your pre-sale tickets by Jan. 15 if you wanna get that sweet, sweet early-bird discount cuz tickets go up to full price Jan. 16.
