Real talk: we’re all complete and utter idiots when we’re stoned. Still, just because you’re laughing like a hyena doesn’t mean you are lacking enough brain cells to put together a sweet marijuana leaf-shaped puzzle (which, to be fair, we should probably leave for when we’re sober).
For all you weed lovers out there, downtown Durango’s Joyful Nook Gallery, a high-end puzzle shop, is offering Budzzles. What in Zuul’s green thumb is a Budzzle, you ask? Well, they are wooden puzzles cut in the shape of marijuana leaves and they are available at Joyful Nook and Prohibition Herb.
“All of our artwork is from local artists. We love promoting the local talent here in Durango,” said Jacqueline Hess, project engineer at Joyful Nook. “Our puzzles are also manufactured on site and are laser cut out of wood. … In addition, each puzzle piece is a unique shape, not a typical jigsaw puzzle. I feel we offer something truly unique to the Durango experience, plus it’s a great new place to just come and hang out, puzzle, and chill.”
Budzzle pieces are cut to contain kitschy references to things like the THC compound and the Volkswagen van. The puzzles have proven so popular, in fact, that they can’t keep up with demand. The business is hosting a Kickstarter campaign starting April 20 to raise funds to churn out more.
But even if you’re not really that into smokin’ the good ol’ weed, Budzzles are still brain-training head scratchers with plenty of odd shapes and challenging bits to put together. A little something for everyone.
