To say that there’s been interest in CBD lately would be to make the world’s biggest understatement. CBD oil and tinctures are freaking everywhere, from being pushed by MLMs on Facebook to the aisles of Walgreens. Still, while there may be a crushing market for CBD, not all products are created equal. Some of the CBD products sold in prohibition states (like Texas) aren’t quality checked by independent labs, so you don’t know if you’re getting what the label says, and they may even be riddled with nasty chemicals leftover from the extraction process. Luckily for us, Colorado is NOT a prohibition state, which means you can get real freaking CBD products here that are independently tested, like the product we’re reviewing this week from – you guessed it, thanks to all the “prohibitions” I threw into my intro – Prohibition Herb.
And that product is Infusiasm’s 200mg CBD/10mg THC tincture. It’s a high CBD tincture that’s good for pain and anxiety relief, but there’s just a tiny bit of THC in there because Colorado law says that pot shops ain’t cool to sell CBD-only products, so any CBD heavy products they sell have to contain THC, too. Yeah, it’s dumb, but it’s also fine cause I like THC. Those of you who don’t, though, needn’t worry, as the tiny amount of THC this product contains won’t get you high. Like, at all.
How do I know this? Well, I dosed myself with it, obviously. I haven’t been a huge fan of tinctures in the past because most of them taste pretty rank, in my humble opinion, but I was surprised to find this one tasted decent. The tincture is made with just three ingredients: MCT oil, which is a coconut oil derivative, cannabis extract, and marijuana extract. (Note: I have no idea why they differentiate cannabis and marijuana but I’m guessing they pull CBD from one and THC from the other? They’re the SAME THING THO.) Anyway, it tastes a bit earthy and maybe even a bit weedy, but nonetheless palatable. I’m guessing you could easily mask it with another strong flavor if you needed to.
I didn’t need to, because to me, both the texture and the taste were fine. And so were the results. There are so many people using CBD for things like chronic pain and inflammation or depression, and I can see why. I didn’t really have any aches and pains the night I took it, despite being an “old,” but it did help soothe my nerves and help me relax to the point that I was chill. I wasn’t as worried about short deadlines or errant typos after a few droppers full of Infusiasm– I was cool with just scrolling Facebook and reading the interwebs, which was fine by me.
What I also really like about this tincture is the price. It’s under $30, which is kind of insane, considering what people have spent on 200mg CBD tinctures elsewhere. Even if you’re not into dosing with THC, this tincture is definitely worth a try at that price tag, provided you aren’t drug tested at work or something. If you are, it’s probably wise to steer clear of this one.
Listen. If you’re in the market for a CBD tincture and you want one that doesn’t taste like you’re eating a bowl of weed or an ashtray, Infusiasm is your freaking jam. And really, don’t let the minuscule amount of THC scare you off; everyone needs a little tetrahydrocannabinol in their lives, even if it’s 1mg at a time.
