“I was born on a pirate ship with ashes all around” – hold your tongue and say that three times fast. You’ve been pirate-prepped.
Now go buy tickets for “The Pirates of Penzance” at Fort Lewis’ Mainstage Theatre, 1000 Rim Drive. You better get on it quick, it’s the last weekend to see this quirky, comic opera. There are 7:30 p.m. performances on Thursday, March 30, Friday, March 31, and Saturday, April 1.
In this Gilbert and Sullivan classic, Frederic is released from his apprenticeship to an overly-kind buncha pirates, falling sword over head for a gal named Mabel. Unfortunately, she’s the daughter of the very model of a modern major general. Can a pirate and a high society civilian date, especially when a twist of fate means Frederic’s pirate apprenticeship might not even be over?
FLC students with valid ID get in for free. Reserving tickets is highly encouraged as shows may sell out. All other tickets range from $5 to $18.
