The Snowdown Fashion Do’s & Don’ts Show was a neon whirlwind of fabulous 1980s retro style and costumes. This week in Style Fetish, I bring you some of the neon-bright highlights of the street styles put together by revelers seen there last Wednesday to kick off the 39th Durango Snowdown.
The outfits I saw there were more Do than Don’t, in my opinion – the array of looks ranged from meta-retro irony, funny film and character references, on-trend ’80s looks in a dizzying variety of authentic styles to chic, couture-looking clothing that is fashion-forward right now in 2016.
In the coming weeks, Style Fetish will examine street style here in Durango, zeroing in on sartorially-special community members to ask what they are wearing and why, where they got it and their opinions on style and fashion.
