Comedy at the DACWhy’d Jesus die on the cross? Cause he forgot his safe word! BAZINGA! Try the fish! I’m here all night. Or, you know, maybe go see comedians who know what the ef they’re doing. Durango Dot Comedy takes on the DAC with improv shenanigans this weekend.

Cowboys all about townYou aren’t so high you’re seeing shit. This is not a drill. This is real life and Durango’s annual Cowboy Poetry Gathering is in town. You’re going to want to pay special attention to Saturday’s schedule from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. where free poetry, storytelling, and music are happening in and near the Strater.

OktoberfestttttttttttttttSix breweries will be serving their best suds at Purg for Oktoberfest. There’ll be music by Diabolical Sound Platoon, Radio Voyeur, and Fünf Musikmenschen, and Conundrum Escape Rooms will feature a pop-up Cold War-themed room. Drink your beer for a good cause: part of the fest’s proceeds go to the Adaptive Sports Association who work to provide outdoors and sports opportunities for people with disabilities.

Zines everywhereAlbuquerque Zine Fest is in its seventh year and is officially the oldest, most badass zine fest in N.M. It’s a hella inclusive space where writers, artists, and anyone interested in zines gather to celebrate the medium. Bring your dollars because there’s gonna be hella good D.I.Y. merch to buy. (And check out the link for an after-party event nearby featuring dance punk band The Homobiles.)

ACT hosts Sin City rapper Las Vegas rapper Dizzy Wright will slay Animas City Theatre’s stage on Sunday. His 2012 debut album, “SmokeOut Conversations,” featured philosophical reflections and reefer. But from then on, his hip-hop has featured a conversational, aware vibe. Nikolai and Rize tha Rebel will open.
