There’s a magical place where beer and movies collide – and this magical place is right here in Durango.
Durango Film – An Independent Film Festival has joined up with Ska Brewing Co. to create not only the annual film fest that takes over local theaters, but also gives us beer drinkers a special brew to go along with the week.
This year, Ska has created Eleventh Kiwi Saison for the festival. Word from the brewery is that it’s a sturdy farmhouse ale with a mild kiwi tartness.
And to kick the whole thing off, from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday night, Durango Film will host its official beer release/volunteer appreciation party at Ska World Headquarters, 225 Girard St., in Bodo Park. The festival will also be announcing this year’s film selections (there will be 108!), which will be shown in venues around town the week of March 2 to 6.
So knock back a few $3 Kiwi Saison pints and enjoy some Zia Taqueria while you show off your movie trivia dominance.
And don’t forget to hug a Durango Film volunteer.
