Green Crack

by Patrick Dalton

What is it?Despite its popularity as a new strain in Colorado, this 21.9 percent THC bud was first bred in the ’70s in Athens, Georgia, as “Cush.” As it made its way to California it became popular in the music industry for its energizing yet focused high, and is rumored to be renamed by Snoop Dogg as Green Crack. This mostly-sativa strain is the result of crossing a Sweet Leaf indica and a Skunk #1.

The effectsThe example I had gives you an immediate and strong head high by the time you’ve exhaled your first hit. The buzz is racy and euphoric with very little body effects. Because of its strength, I backed off after only a few hits, but pushing her might end up in the most intense psychoactive experience of your life.

The smellOpening the jar gives off a very fruity citrusy aroma that finishes more like fresh mango, which is actually one of its nick names.

The lookIt’s a very tasty sweet inhale with a bit of earthy mint on the exhale.

The tasteI like the fruity, earthy taste, and it’s smooth enough for big inhales.

The final verdictApproach this one with caution. It’s very pleasant in normal doses, but when you take her deep, she has the potential to take over your brain and make you nonfunctional. This is a fantastic daytime strain for those boring tasks around the house or a nice walk in the foothills. It’s definitely a mood enhancer and will elevate your spirits immediately on the first hit. I really liked it during mid-day, and the high wore off comfortably within an hour and a half.
