It probably won’t shock you to hear that a band named Rainbow Kitten Surprise is getting into the cannabis game. At least, it shouldn’t shock you.
The alternative rock indie band is partnering up with Colorado cannabis company Green Dot Labs to create a limited edition .5 mL THAT’S MY S#!T live-resin vaporizer cartridge, according to Westword. In case you’re not familiar with RKS’s work, the cartridge is named for one of their songs.
The project came about after RKS Charlie Holt approached Green Dot Labs after he tried a Green Dot vaporizer pen that the cannabis company partnered with Sound Tribe Sector 9, an instrumental rock and electronic music band, to make.
Since Green Dot already had the experience of working with bands like STS9 and the Disco Biscuits, they were more than willing to collaborate with RKS on a product.
“We have a discovery process where we go through each party, and we really try to learn and explore their history with cannabis, and all the various flavors and effects that they’ve appreciated in their time using cannabis,” Green Dot CEO Alana Malone told Westword. “And then we talk about what we’re looking for in a product: what type of energy we want it to bring, and what the flavors and effects are for that.”
The two sides eventually decided on fall-esque aromas to match the release timing. The smell of THAT’S MY S#!T also comes with notes of diesel, floral, earth, and pumpkin. The live-resin vaporizer cartridge is a concoction of Kurple Fantasy (Old Mountain Purps and OG Kush) and GDL’s Inside Job (LA Confidential and Secret Kush Mints). Sounds like a great way to get through the rest of 2020 to us!
“The GDL team shares our passion for cannabis as a source of creative inspiration and deep connection,” Holt said. “Our THAT’S MY S#!T carts have been in heavy rotation while we record new music during quarantine, and we hope everyone will enjoy this release as much as we have.”
If you want to snag one of these limited edition cartridges, they are available in Colorado dispensaries. You can also get yourself a matching THAT’S MY S#!T battery, with designs by artist Luke Martin who has done work for RKS in the past.
