The dance floor will be open at the Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College on Thursday night for Las Cafeteras – Diez y Seis Celebration.
Las Cafeteras, from East Los Angeles, transcend genres, using their music to tell stories and spread political message about life in East L.A. According to their website, they add Afro-Caribbean marimbol and cajón, poetry in English and Spanglish, and instruments like jarana, requinto, a donkey jawbone and a wooden platform called the Tarima.
The show starts at 7:30 p.m.
