Ever find yourself lighting up a joint or two while completely and totally solo? Of course you do. We’re still emerging from a global pandemic, and we’ve all been hermits in some form or fashion for at least the last two years. (And yes, some of us have been hermits for much, much longer. Let us live.) Given that we’ve all been avoiding the hell out of each other since mid- 2020, it’s probably going to take a while to get back to living at a normal level of social interactions— whatever that may mean for you. And that’s OK! The truth is that there’s nothing wrong with getting stoned all by your lonesome. In fact, it can be one of the very best pastimes because you can spend that time indulging in whatever your little heart desires.

Want to take on a new hobby after your Philly blunt? You can do that while stoned all by your lonesome! (Just stay away from the power tools, please.) Itching to binge a terrible Netflix series (hello, “Ultimatum”)? Ain’t nobody around to tell your stoned little behind to stop!

Conjuring up some new experimental munchies, which involves way too many Doritos and gummy bears? Be you, boo! Nobody’s around to judge you!

So yeah. Being high and alone can be awesome. You should try it if you haven’t done so before. And if you have done it before, you should probably consider doing it more often. It’s a pretty great time.

And, when you do get high alone, you can elevate that experience by tossing on a stoner-friendly podcast. Yes, you read that right. A weed podcast. They exist! And they’re awesome!

In fact, there are tons of weed-related podcasts out there that are worth listening to, and what’s awesome is that—just like any other type of podcast—there are a wild range of options and topics to choose from.

Whether you want to feel like you’re passing the dutchie to the stoner hosts (on the left hand side, of course), would rather laugh your ass off at some high-ly entertaining antics, or are more interested in learning about the nuances to the science behind the plant, you have pod choices, friends. So many of them.
Need help narrowing them down? Don’t you worry! We have you covered. From comedy stoner podcasts to podcasts that are focused on educational weed content or shows that loop in special guests and industry experts, here are the cannabis podcasts worth downloading right now.

The Adam Dunn Show

Looking for a cornucopia of cannabis knowledge? No, really. That’s how this podcast bills itself—as a veritable cornucopia of weed information, and it’s a good one.

This show has been dropping new podcast episodes for years now, and it does so on a weekly basis—with new episodes available on Friday at (of course) 4:20 p.m.

What’s great about this show is that it offers the perfect mix of hilarious entertainment and banter along with in-depth analysis and interviews. The prior guests on the show have ranged from cannabis doctors and lawyers to weed biz leaders—and everyone in between.
This show is definitely worth a binge listen, and will leave you feeling both entertained and informed—thanks to the dearth of knowledge these weed experts layer into the mix.

The Brave New Weed Podcast

If you’re into smart people stoner podcasts, The Brave New Weed Podcast could be right up your alley. This podcast bills itself as “high-minded conversations for the post-prohibition era”—and it most certainly lives up to that reputation. Think of it like the NPR of weed, eh?

This podcast is a home run from start to finish—in large part because of how much unique insight it offers. And, it’s interesting that the show can pack in as much insight as it does, because the premise is surprisingly simple: the hosts hold conversations on legalization— which are held with some of the biggest brains on the planet, including authors, scientists, cannabis advocates, and politicians.
These deep and thoughtful conversations aren’t just limited to weed, though. This show tackles the legalization topics surrounding all drugs—from cannabis to magic mushrooms and other psychedelics.

Now, it’s worth noting that this show isn’t going to offer your typical Cheech and Chong-style antics, so don’t expect any deep belly laughs or silly stoner humor. But it does offer an hour worth of unique, enlightening conversations surrounding the drug legalization landscape— and it’s a great way to keep up with what’s happening in the psychoactive legalization world.

CannaInsider Podcast

Another Colorado-bred podcast, CannaInsider Podcast offers a platform for a wide berth of insider opinions and perspectives on everything from cannabis to CBD, hemp, and the weed industry as a whole.
Unlike some of the other podcasts on this list, though, the CannaInsider Podcast is focused on the business of bud rather than the legalization side of the equation. The industry leaders who are featured on this show tend to talk about the business of cannabis— sharing their own unique stories and perspectives from the vantage point of the people propelling the industry forward.

Sound interesting? Of course it does! And what’s even better is that this show has a wide archive featuring hundreds of prior episodes—so you can binge, binge, binge to your heart’s content.

Goodbye, spare time—hello, CannaInsider Podcast.

Dude Grows Show

Prefer to eschew the heavy talk for a little lighthearted cannabis culture and a lot of educational grow op content instead? Well, then, you little greenthumbed monster. Dude Grows Show might just be your jam.

Dude Grows is a podcast that covers the latest cannabis news and culture topics while offering some deep insight into the grow scene. It’s kinda like a chill dive into the knowledge end of the pool—with a side of super useful weed grow tips.

Whether you’re a novice with an interest in raising your own sticky icky plants or a near expert who wants the inside scoop from the industry’s best growers, this show can help you out. And, as an added bonus, you’ll get insight into growing cannabis indoors or out. The choice is yours, fool.

And, what’s even better is that you can get a head start right now, because the show has well over 1,000 episodes ready for you to binge.
In other words, it’s a gold mine of tips and tricks for growing your own weed—and the show’s chill hosts will keep your attention for as long as your little green heart desires. The Wine and Weed Podcast

Who doesn’t like to wash down their weed with a little bit of wine? Nobody, that’s who.

And that’s especially true for the hosts of this podcast, who dive into current cultural issues while burning a fatty and downing a bottle of red…or white…or rose all day. Whatever floats their fancies.

The Wine and Weed Podcast is one of the newer cannabis podcasts to emerge, but it’s been steadily building a strong audience due to the remarkably chill vibe of the show’s hosts, Steelo Brim and Chris Reinacher.

What’s unique about Wine and Weed is that it isn’t really a true podcast about weed, but it chooses to incorporate the use of weed into a review of today’s cultural zeitgeist. And by that, we mean the hosts are talking about pressing topics while smoking a joint and indulging in a glass of wine. They’re definitely living their best lives and we want in.

What results is an entertaining podcast that doesn’t take itself too seriously at any point (and how could it when everyone’s high?). It’s good vibes, good times, and a chill listen, so if you want some lighthearted, weed-friendly fun with some insightful chatter thrown into the mix, this podcast may be your jam.

The Green Repeal

We all know that the push to end the prohibition of criminalized substances has a set of very unique challenges to overcome, and that includes the ongoing legalization push as it relates to good old cannabis. While legal cannabis has resulted in boundless amounts of positives, it has also proven difficult for cannabis companies to navigate the often contradictory state and federal laws.

And, as you may have guessed, that’s precisely what this podcast aims to address.

Hosted by Rick Kiley and Jeff Boedges, both of whom have extensive backgrounds in alcoholic beverage marketing and entrepreneurialism, The Green Repeal is an exercise in legalization discussion. This bi-weekly production is a deep dive into the consequences, both intended and otherwise, of repealing prohibition. It’s smart, educated, and insightful, thanks to a lineup that includes interviews with economists, historians, business founders, cannabis law thought leaders, and other experts.

This podcast is bound to become even more relevant as more and more states legalize recreational and medical cannabis. In turn, marketers in the cannabis industry will continue to be faced with unprecedented challenges as the plant continues its transition from prohibited to decriminalized. And, where this podcast’s hosts come in is providing insight into how prohibition of alcohol and other products set a powerful precedence. We’re not really doing this fascinating podcast justice with this description, so just tune in to a few episodes instead. You’ll see why we think this podcast is pure gold.

Getting Doug With High

Getting Doug with High hasn’t recorded any new podcast episodes recently, but this weed-heavy podcast is certainly still worth a listen—and there are hundreds of banked episodes to indulge in. The premise of this podcast is that comedian Doug Benson, of the “Doug Loves Movies” podcast and “Super High Me” fame, chats with a comedic guest each week while the duo (or trio, or whatever) gets super duper stoned. What results from this little social experiment is pure, unadulterated hilarity, and we love it.

Benson was already an unabashed stoner prior to recording this podcast, and that alone helps to elevate each episode to force listeners into spurts of gut-busting laughter. It’s completely and totally lighthearted fun as the comedians and the comedic host play stoned trivia, swap war stories, and, well, chat about weed. The epitome of entertainment, folks. All the episodes are worth a listen, but you’ve truly found a gem if you manage to stumble upon the episodes where the show features “High History,” which are segments where the host and co. discuss their first times getting high. Just try not to laugh at their stories. It’s impossible.

And, thanks to Benson’s superstar status on the comedy scene, it’s worth noting that these aren’t just any guests. We’re talking about people like Tommy Chong, Tiffany Haddish, Sarah Silverman, and other A-list comics. All the comics.

Oh, and at one point even Kevin Smith, stoner extraordinaire, makes an entrance. A fitting entry into Benson’s podcast canon, as Smith, of “Clerks” and “Jay and Silent Bob” fame, is one of the most vocal cannabis supporters around.

Weed + Grub

If you love to combine the topics of food and weed (and what pot aficionado doesn’t), Weed + Grub is for you, friend. But this show isn’t limited to self-proclaimed foodies, so if you’re not a big fan of highbrow cuisine, maybe don’t cut yourself from the equation just yet. There’s a lot more to these stories. In addition to exploring food and weed, podcast co-hosts Mike Glazer and Mary Jane Gibson chop it up over everything from cannabis to sex and the latest pop culture phenomenons. And, the result of this recipe is excellent. Completely and totally excellent.

Plus, these two hosts bring a lot of interesting street cred to the table. In his former life, Glazer worked as cook for Gordon Ramsey’s The F Word—and is an
Emmy-nominated comedian. Gibson, on the other hand, is the culture editor at High Times, and while this may seem like an unlikely duo, the reality is that
the chemistry between the two hosts ultimately proves to be one of the most alluring features of this podcast.

But that ain’t it! In addition to the other draws, Weed + Grub also manages to pull some of the most interesting weed enthusiasts as guests. Past interviews have included Jim Belushi, David Crosby, and Buck Angel.

Yep. You see where this is going.

From Pot to Popular

Does the name of this podcast sound like a riff on “Mean Girls” to you? Well, whatever. It does to us.

But you don’t have to worry abou any snarky antics or Karen-esque weather reporting with this podcast. This podcast is all business—well, the business of cannabis culture, anyway.

Hosted by Rosie Mattio, From Pot to Popular discusses cannabis from unique points of view: entrepreneurial, executive, financial, and journalism, for example.

This leads to some seriously interesting content about the cultural, financial, and technological advancements that are on the horizon for cannabis. So, if you’ve ever wanted to take a deep dive into what it’s actually like to operate a cannabis business in an industry that’s constantly shifting and changing, you’ve got it in hand with this one.

Great Moments in Weed History with Abdullah and Bean

History and weed go together like peanut butter and jelly—you just didn’t know it yet. You will know it quite well after indulging in a few episodes of Great
Moments in Weed History with Abdullah and Bean.

As you may have guessed, Great Moments in Weed History is a podcast that combines the unlikely duo of weed and history. What results from it is flatout awesome and hilarious.

Hosted by David Bienenstock, author of How to Smoke Pot (Properly): A Highbrow Guide to Getting High, and Abdullah Saeed, of Bong App tit and High
Maintenance fame, GMIWH takes a weekly dive into different historical aspects of the plant. That historic exploration spans a wide berth of topics within
history, from good ol’ Willie Nelson’s love of the herb to fascinating dives into topics like weed and Jesus— or how Amsterdam became a haven for weed.
What’s great about GMIWH is that it’s not just funny; it’s also extremely thoughtful and well-researched. You’ll find it hard to take a break from this one—especially if you smoke along with the hosts during the episodes.

Shaping Fire

It’s not all fun and games for cannabis podcasts—some of the options are serious business. And that’s the premise for Shaping Fire, which is a long-running podcast focused on both the business of cannabis and the advocacy surrounding cannabis access for patients.

That alone would make this podcast worth a shot, and when you add in the fact that it’s hosted by Shango Los, a Washington State-based cannabis enthusiast and entrepreneur, which is sheer perfection. Shango has been entwined with the cannabis landscape for many years, and is a regular speaker at cannabis conventions, academic events, and universities. Shango is able to easily navigate complex topics in the cannabis space while advocating for fair access—and that alone helps to add some real weight to the work the podcast is doing.

And what makes this podcast even more of a standout is that it also puts an emphasis on innovation and ethical cultivation practices in the cannabis space.
This adds even more meat to the bones, and sets Shaping Fire apart from the many other options in this space.
