Air Force major claims he shot alien in new book, “Strange Craft”

by Amanda Push

Aliens might not be as immune to humans as we might think they are. This is, anyway, according to Air Force Major George Filer III, an 84-year-old and retiree, in a new book titled “Strange Craft: The True Story of an Air Force Intelligence Officer’s Life with UFOs,” written by John L. Guerra.

In the book, Filer, a former intelligence officer for the 21st Air Force, recounts a night in January 1978 when he shot an alien to death using a .45-caliber handgun after it nearly got the drop on him. That evening, outside of Fort Dix in New Jersey, Filer said he was following “a strange, low-flying aircraft that had been observed passing through the military installation’s airspace about 2 a.m. that morning,” according to the Asbury Park Press.

At some point during the drive, Filer realized that predator had turned prey. No longer was the aircraft ahead of him – it was now hovering over his police pickup. According to the story, the creature de-boarded its craft and freaked Filer out so badly he shot it.

After the alleged encounter, Filer filed a report and the alien corpse was collected by the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio. In classic fashion, the Air Force classified the incident as top secret, and, well, who knows what became of the alien after that.
