There’s nothing quite like free

by Katie Chicklinski-Cahill

In this age of free apps, free streaming services and all other sorts of “free” technological stuff, wouldn’t it be nice to get something truly free that you can hold in your hands?

From noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Durango Book Rescue will be giving away thousands (thousands!) of books – remember those? – that don’t require batteries or a screen. You can take your free book, go grab a coffee and maybe get lost in the pages (real paper pages! That smell really, really good, especially the old ones! Uh huh!) for a good long while.

At least that’s what I’ll be doing.

The books will be waiting for you at 923 Narrow Gauge Ave.
