Weed review: Keef Cola Root Beer

by Patrick Dalton

What is It?Kief or Keef is an Arabic word meaning “pleasure or intoxication.” It’s also the bulbous end of the trichome, the part of the marijuana plant where all the THC and other cannabinoids are stored. Kief as a slang lets you know you’re getting the powdery crystal trichomes that make this root beer the 2015 High Times Cannabis Cup winner for best edible.

The effectsUnlike solid edibles, these sodas seem to hit your cranium within the first 10 minutes. By the time I was finished drinking this Bubba Kush Root Beer, I was already feeling that warm blanket of relaxation covering me. The perfect 10 mg attitude adjustment left me focused and happy. It lasted about three hours, but wore off gently.

The look

The product comes in an opaque aluminum bottle. You’ll need an opener or an idiot friend with strong teeth for the childproof cap. I used my teeth.

The taste

Regular sweet spicy root beer flavor with very little marijuana taste.

The final verdict

This is an extremely nice product that gives you a very chill buzz while still maintaining its integrity as a root beer. First-timers will love this product for the single recommended dose as well as the amazing taste. Experienced people will love it for producing a great effect any time of day at an easy price. Great for stress and anxiety, but I’m liking it while cramming down a cheeseburger and fries on an crispy afternoon.
