Bud Light isn’t going to let a marketing opportunity like the September 20 Storm Area 51 go by. Oh no. Once booed on the Twitter stage for stating, “We’d like to be the first brand to formally announce that we will not be sponsoring the Area 51 raid,” the beer company has since backed off on its negative stance on aliens.
“Screw it. Free Bud Light to any alien that makes it out,” the company later posted on Twitter.
And now, taking it a step further, the beer company that also decided to put Post Malone’s face on their cans is releasing a limited special edition Area 51 beer fit for human consumption.
Unfortunately, these green beers are only being offered in Nevada, Arizona, and California. BUT the rest of us will be able to grab alien-themed merch like hats, jackets, and koozies on the company’s website. Heck. You can even get your own flag for when you’re off to storm the Area 51. (For real, please don’t actually try to raid a military base.)
“Whether you’re from this planet or another galaxy, nothing says ‘welcome to our planet’ like a few beers,” a Bud Light spokesperson said, according to Delish. “The way we see it, there’s no better way to show these aliens ‘we come in peace’ than a few BLs. Who knows? Maybe a few beers will make this a party rather than a raid.”
