Let’s face it: despite how much you might care about someone, weddings are the worst. They’re stressful, long, expensive, and you tend to run into a lot of people you don’t want to run into.
Luckily, Canada is on top of the issue.
The country’s first cannabis wedding expo, Canadian Cannabis Wedding Expo, was held last Saturday in the city of Calgary, located in the province of Alberta.
Canada legalized everyone’s favorite plant nationwide just last October, and they’re already pretty on the ball with building a solid industry.
The expo offered soon-to-be bride and grooms a variety of ways they could incorporate greenery into their special day.
“There are more ways of incorporating it than just smoking it,” Cauryn Cameron, the organizer of the event, told Global News. “You can do it aesthetically in the flowers, you can have it as a wedding favour.”
Natalia Chiles, one of the vendors at the expo, helps couples plan parties and honeymoons.
“It can be anything from adding a few drops of CBD oil, which is non-psychoactive, into your tea or smoking up a cannabis cigar,” she told Global News. “There are different alternatives to what people can think of as a cannabis wedding.”
