Cold beer and music at Purgatory Resort’s Summer Brew

by Amanda Push

Liquid gold will soon be running aplenty at Purgatory Resort, and by that, we mean beer. Lots and lots of beer. If you’re lucky enough to get in, Purg’s upcoming Summer Brew will offer endless amounts of sudsy samples to its thirsty attendees.

You’ll want to pack a lawn chair or a picnic blanket for this festival though, because on top of getting to enjoy some refreshingly cold summer brews, there will also be live music for your listening pleasure. State 38, a Cortez jam band, will be at the festival to keep the party going because really, what’s a festival without live music? Nothing, in our humblest of professional beer-gulpin’ opinions.

In total, there will be 25 summer beers for you to sample with your commemorative tasting glass you’ll get at the door. If you’re a particularly vivacious hops fan, not to worry. There’s no limit to the number of samples you can pour.

Among the beer samples will be Steamworks, Ska Brewing, Carver Brewing, Animas Brewing, Mancos Brewing, Fenceline Cider, Bottom Shelf Brewery, Eddyline Brewing, Oskar Blues Brewery, Pabst Blue Ribbon, Alaskan Brewing Co., Bells, New Belgium, Sierra Nevada, and White Claw.

Ya better get your tickets soon, though. Only 300 tickets will be available and it’s pretty likely this brew fest is going to sell out before the day of the event. So, if you’re on the fence, it might be a bad idea to wait to buy tickets at the gate.

As they say with beer in hand, bottoms up.
