Wana Quick’s Colorado Sunrise gummies are a taste of the Centennial State. In other words, they’re badass.

by Sir Blaze Ridcully

When you think of the state of Colorado, what kinds of flavors do you think of? Thanks for asking! I tend to think of tacos washed down by a cold beer, but I think that’s just because I crave beer and tacos at all times. Not really because it’s a Colorado thing to do.

Well, I think Wana has hit the flavor of Colorado a little more squarely on the head with their Colorado Sunrise gummies from their Wana Quick line. The
Colorado Sunrise flavor is a potent mix of tangy orange citrus with a cherry aftertaste, and it’s a play on the tequila sunrise cocktail — you know the one. It’s
made with tequila, grenadine syrup, and orange juice, and just conjuring up the memories of the smell in my brain brings back vivid memories of summer hangovers.

For that reason alone, I’ll admit that I thought it was an odd combination the first time I saw it. Oranges and cherries… in a weed gummy? Interesting, I guess.

But while I was ever-so-slightly appalled, I was also intrigued, because it was way out of the norm for what I usually see weed gummies flavored like. Don’t get me wrong, I love “safe” flavors like mango, chocolate, and blueberry, but sometimes I want to mix it up, too.

As I said, when you try Colorado Sunrise gummies, you’ll first get hit with this very bright, citrusy flavor which you could equate to the sun coming over the mountain while you drink your morning OJ. This is eventually followed up by the sweet taste of cherry to finish off the slightly sour taste of orange. Like I said: Unusual? Yes. Delicious? Double yes.

These gummies aren’t just any old Wana gummies, either. They come from the cannabis edible’s Wana Quick line. In case you are not familiar with the Wana Quick gummies line, here’s the lowdown: they kick in super quick.

That’s because a couple of the common complaints people have (myself included; I’m not placing the blame on you guys!) when it comes to edibles is a.) how long it takes to get high, and b.) how long the effects from edibles last once you do get high — which, for many people, is entirely too long. As a result, it can be tough to dose, especially if you’re new to cannabis. And it can be a crapshoot when it comes to knowing whether you’ll be functional enough to, well, function after they kick in.

And, part of the reason for that is because most edibles are metabolized by the liver, which means it takes a while for your body to push them alllllll the way down there to get you high. Very scientific, I know.

But with Wana’s Quick line, your liver doesn’t do the heavy lifting. Instead, Wana used nano-encapsulation technology to instead send the THC straight into your bloodstream. That way, rather than it taking anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour to get stoned, you’ll be on Planet Xorbo in anywhere from roughly five to 15 minutes. But the high will last you anywhere from two to four hours, so you’ll still want to take it easy if you pop one of these.

Wana Quick edibles are also a chill, easy high that isn’t as intense as most edible highs, which is nice if you’re wanting to avoid becoming couchlocked.

I’m going to get a little scientific here, but the reason for these differences is mainly because when edibles are absorbed through the liver, the THC is converted into an 11-Hydroxy molecule which creates a more intense stoned experience. Because Wana edibles are absorbed through the bloodstream, the
TCH turns into the Delta-9-THC molecule. As a result, the effects are much less overwhelming.

Now that you’re all caught up, let’s get back to our regularly scheduled programming.

The Colorado Sunrise flavor of Wana Quick is a sativa, which also helps to keep the couchlock to a minimum. Each dose (one gummy) contains 10 milligrams of THC, but the effects were not overwhelming enough to knock me down for the count, so I could have easily ingested more and still felt capable of doing life or whatever.

But, it did more than that for me. Any time I would ingest one, I would become extremely giddy and have the full-on laughter-arrest syndrome, which basically means I found everything funny (no matter how dumb) and laughed until I could no longer breathe.

You know how it be sometimes? Yeah. It was like that.

Anyway, unlike most edibles I take, I wasn’t glued to my regular seat on the couch due to an ultra-heavy body high. Instead, I was gifted a cozy head high, and found myself with more energy, even after I’d worked all day. Needless to say, I ran out of these edibles with the quickness, and was uber disappointed when I did.

Listen, the bottom line is this: I enjoy Wana Quick’s line of edibles, especially since they’re customized after some of my favorite alcoholic beverages, like strawberry margarita and limoncello. But, instead of a hangover the next day, I can enjoy the effects of having slept a little better instead. And who wouldn’t trade in a hangover for some decent rest and sore abs from laughing?

Not I said the cat, and not I said Blaze. Yes I did go there in third person. You’re welcome.
